wewt....tomorrow is OCTOBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. I am just really in love with October. Best month of the year, if I say so myself, and I do. Say so.
Yeah.

Anyway: Today. We. Played. With. PLAY-DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was awesome.
Making worms and trees and little men.

Making purple play-doh and trees.

Hi mom.

A star!

I'm having so much fun!
Then we decorated the house for Halloween (squeeeee), and ate food. It was a good day. Except for the part where I was witness to the worst incident of road rage I have ever seen. Some jerk in a Ford F150 was stopped at a stoplight. Then behind him was a black Saturn and then me. I like to leave a lot of room in front of me between cars because hey, crap happens and I don't want to get crapped on. Well, out of the blue the Ford F150 put his truck in reverse and, I crap you not, rammed into the little black Saturn. It was bizarre and I almost got crapped on (see how I brought that around - I'm hilarious).

Anyway it was a good day off.

It's October, pt. 2!

Hooray! DaddyMonster is amazing. He remembered that our old laptop has a little SD card slot!!!! So, here is a little pic spam of Kaylee turning 2!
No clothes, preparing for the cake!

What's that?

Can I touch it?

My cake is yummy!

Grandpa is saying something important to me!

Yep, MommyMonster made a strawberry cake with vanilla whipped frosting, YUM. It was a hit. She got a lot of cool presents from everyone. And our house is now filled with the sounds of a laptop, a counting toy, and a princess song book. She also has a baby that she puts to sleep each night. :) My daughter is awesome!

Here is some more fun!!!

Princess Songbook! It's cool, has all the Disney Princesses!

Reading to her baby, wearing her pink cowboy boots!

Standing on the hippo chair in her pink boots. She never wears clothes anymore :D.

Reading to her dolly.

Brushing my teeth like a big girl!

My jammers are awesome!

She has taken to wearing MommyMonster's dress shoes:
Don't mind the mess, we were still unpacking.

Her hair is starting to curl like MommyMonster's!

So, there you go. Some pictures! I hope you enjoy them, and now that things are slowing down, well...I am sure there will be plenty more updates to come! <3 MommyMonster

Monster Learns Stuff.

So, it has been a busy, busy week here at the Monster household. Momma Monster (that would be me) has spent the last week filling out forms, and registering, and signing papers, it has been busy. Momma Monster is going to finish getting her Associate's Degree. Just got registered for fall semester, and wrote, edited, deleted, re-wrote, re-edited, re-deleted and wrote another essay for the scholarship I applied for. It is for mother's of children with cranio-facial conditions. I hope I get it. It's $5000 a semester. Wish me luck on that front. :)

Kaylee had a fun week, although I think she may have some heat rash on her leg, I don't know. It looks red and raised, but doesn't feel hot to the touch and it doesn't seem to itch or bother her. *shrug* if it gets any worse we'll be taking a trip to the doctor today.

So, what has Kaylee been up to?

Learned how to climb into a cabinet.
Narnia?!?!
Learned that playing with a box on the head is the funnest game ever!
Well, hello.

So, there is this box on my head.
Learned how to save her pennies.
One penny.

More pennies.
Fell asleep on some pillows in her room.
This seems like a good spot. *falls over*
Yep. That's been our week so far. We're gonna go for a walk now over at the ponds by my house. Since I will have the Kaylee Monster, I probably won't be able to take many pictures. You know, because, ponds. Danger. That kind of thing. Anyway, that is all for us today. <3 you!

Today, We COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!

Every single time I sit at my computer to start making some cards or get a scrap page done, I have this little monster at my chair begging to come up and sit in my work space. :( I have three grad cards to make, a boat load of late mother's day cards, the boat load of father's day cards, and even a few birthday cards (in all I'd say about 15-20 cards total) to get done, and I have a monster in my space. *sigh* I guess when she goes to sleep then.

Lately, she's been wanting to use my metallic markers to color with, along with my set of cute kitty highlighters. So, without any ado: Monster Colors.
Kitty Highlighters!
Coloring! YAY!
Trying to get a hold of these things.

LOL.

So, I take this here...

color everywhere...

This is the lid??

So, this goes in here. Got it.
I made ART mom!!!!

So, that's what we did today. <3 you guys.

As May Comes to a Close...

I just want to say, that, no, I am not abandoning the blog. Truly, I am not. It's just, life. It gets busy, then it gets slowed down. Whether by illness or tragedy, random injuries, and total mayhem, blogging tends to take a backseat when things get rough. For that, I apologize my dear friends and readers. I am sorry. Hopefully, with the summer and fall seasons coming up (my absolute favorite times of the year) I will have more awesome material rather than boring material to go over with you all.

Suffice it to say that this month is not a month that I want to repeat. Ever.

So, on to the subject at hand: Kaylee Monster. Oh, this thing. This adorable little thing, the joy of my life: is an ever living monster right now, and not in the cute way. *sigh* She's cute most of the day, then one thing will go wrong for her and bam! temper tantrum. A full out, face in the floor, limbs everywhere, screaming at the top of the lungs - temper tantrum. I've yet to catch a picture of her full on tantrum, but it is not a pretty sight.

Developmentally, she is doing quite well, as usual. Considering we were told she was supposed to have all this speech therapy and constant ear tubes, she is doing really well. We've not needed a speech therapist yet, and her first set of tubes fell out, but we have been told she doesn't need them right now, and they will recheck her end of next month so that will be fun. But yeah, she's talking, walking, climbing, eating, pooping, etcetera.

Her vocabulary has increased so much during this past month or two it is amazing. She can say Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet. She says toes, nose, ears, ouchy, puppy, fishy, kitty, up, down, stinky,  honey, milk, eggs, cheese, hotdog, ice, eat, Ronan, mommy, dada, wow, hi, bye, please (although she doesn't quite know when to use it), love you, ducky, socks, diaper. So many words now. Lots of them. She's starting to say her little sentences here and there, things that mean nonsense to anyone else but her. She tries to sing little songs, and plays out the songs with her hands (Itsy Bitsy Spider, Pattie Cake, etc), she can sing the Winnie the Pooh part of the chorus of the Winnie the Pooh song. She likes to dance to everything, still. It really is awesome.

She's climbing more and more complex items throughout the house now. For instance, I found her climbing up the large bookshelf we have in the living room, she was on the second shelf off of the floor, trying to get her hands on a bottle of my nail polish. She uses her slide, a box and her bus scooter thing to get up to higher shelving that she couldn't reach otherwise (problem solving is a good thing, except that it gives me a heart attack). A few mornings ago I woke up because I heard her yelling from her room, but not from her crib -
- from here.
-the top of her changing station. You can see her tears from realizing she couldn't get down. She had the lights turned on, in addition to -
This.
-that would be the contents of her diaper wipe package, a bottle of powder, her comb...ugh. But when I looked at her face, her reaction -
*grins*
-one of pure joy. Sleepy, and swollen faced joy, but joy nonetheless.

So, yeah. I mean, that's about it. Really, she's doing well so far. We've had a busy and emotionally draining month, but we are all going to be okay. Everything is going to be alright. We always are. Love, us.

16 Months Old!!!!!!

Just a quick note. She's officially one year and four months old. Time flies, eh? Anyway, just a couple of pictures that I have taken over the last couple of days! First, she loves to cuddle her daddy. . .
Ahhhh....relaxin.

Adorable.

Then I decided on some black and white pictures because I learned how to change the settings on my little digital camera. I think one day I will invest in something major. But yeah, dreams right? Anyway, that is about it. Enjoy. <3
Oh, what is this I see over here?
The tentacles on Squishy, are - um - squishy.

Crayons and Blocks.

So, yeah. Kaylee got some crayons for Christmas. We decided it would be ok, we're not going to let her color on her walls or anything. And she actually hasn't, because she has been busy eating the crayons. And using the crayons on her books rather than paper. We've had some interesting experiences with rainbow poo because of the crayon eating. Life is fun. Here is a pic of her coloring her book.
You can kinda see where she ate off the paper.
She also got a package of MegaBlocks from my mom and dad. She loves to play with those. She makes Daddy Monster get on the floor and build stuff with her. She has also taken to dragging the bag (with all of the blocks in it) around the house, putting it down next to something that she can't reach the surface of, standing on it and taking whatever she can off of the top. *sigh* I have yet to get a picture of that...she always jumps or falls off before I get the chance to snap it. :D silly Monster.
My blocks! I loves them!
Aside from that, not much to tell. She is a rambunctious little Monster. She's getting so big! I was able to get her hair into a tiny ponytail, I wrote about that already didn't I? Eh, oh well. I need to get some of those really small rubber bands so I can start getting her used to the feeling. She will have pigtails at some point. It will happen. Yeah, so not much really left to say. She goes for her 15 month appointment and vaxs on Wednesday, so that is going to be a fun day! I will try to make it fun anyway. Maybe I will buy an ice cream machine soon and we can make vaccination days Ice Cream Days! That would be awesome...

Well, gotta go. Much love from Jess, Grant and Monster. <3
